Famous forró joint with some of Brazil’s top bands.
The main venue, Remelexo, has paid entrance and an enormous dance floor with a bar and coat check.
The bar on the corner next door is called Remelexinho and has smaller free concerts in a crowded and informal space, with music and dancing spilling out into the street. Generally this takes place before the announced band then moves over and plays in the main space.
Some like to say that Remelexo draws a more “popular” (working-class/less snooty) crowd than Canto da Ema. Both venues have great bands and draw excellent dancers.
